All Our Goodies

Tuesday, January 27th, 2004

Everything arrived safely yesterday, for the most part. We’ve been busy unpacking. Lou was helping me in the kitchen last night while The Mister was at work. Every time I pulled something out to unwrap it she’d say, “It’s another present!”. We’re heading out this weekend to get a mattress for the top bunk bed. Lou is excited about getting to sleep up there like a big girl. Little Miss is just excited to have new things to climb on. We’re going to have to put the ladder to the top bunk up each day so she doesn’t decide to do some mattress aerobatics. Well, I’m off to unpack another round of boxes.

Gettin’ Ready

Saturday, January 24th, 2004

We got The Mister’s things from Japan yesterday. It was only one giant box. The rest of our stuff comes Monday. I’m so ready to get things where they’re supposed to be. I don’t think I’ve ever been so excited to have to unpack before. The only thing I’m not looking forward to is having to wash all of my dishes.

The girls are going nuts this evening. For some reason neither one of them wanted to nap today. Eight can’t get here soon enough.

Got The U/S

Wednesday, January 21st, 2004

I’m back from my ultrasound. There’s only one Baby Hack in there. I’m a bit relieved, but The Mister was pretty disappointed. They changed my due date. Instead of being 9 weeks 3 days along, I’m only 8 weeks 4 days along. I’m not surprised because it took so long for me to get a positive on a pee stick. We got to see the little heart just beating away at 168 beats per minute.

Technologically Impaired

Monday, January 19th, 2004

I’ve been trying to get the pictures of the new house off of the memory card for three days now. I finally managed to get it done. I swear the preggo brain is gonna be the end of me. So I’ve got some pictures for you down in the extended entry.

Saturday morning I got up and went to a couple of yard sales with Lou, Lori, and Traci. I hit the jackpot on the second sale. I got some new maternity clothes. Nine shirts, three sweatshirt jacket thingies, one exercise outfit, and one pair of jeans for $18.

Yesterday we went to Lowe’s and Target. I got some curtains for the livingroom window and the kitchen window. I also got a cabinet for the bathroom and a dryer vent thingy. We’re going to head over to the house today and go ahead and hang the curtains. Only one week until we get our stuff!

And like the dork I am, I forgot a picture of the livingroom. I’ll get one of those today. If I remember.

Still Excited

Saturday, January 17th, 2004

We have keys. But we have no furniture. TMO will deliver our things on the 26th. I was a little disappointed that it was going to take so long, but I’ll get over it. I’ve got the cable man coming out and I’ve got the phone set up to be turned on. I have to go sit over there in an empty house all day on Friday because The Mister’s stuff from Japan will be here before our stuff from Oklahoma. Ah, well. We don’t mind an extra week with Lori. We won’t be moving far when we do, either. When we were here the first time, we were next door neighbors. This time we’re backyard neighbors. It’s a shorter walk now than it was living next door. I might try to take some pics later and show everyone how tiny it is. At least it’s a three bedroom and we’ll finally get our sofas.

Wahoo!

Friday, January 16th, 2004

We are no longer homeless! Now we have to make an appointment to have our things delivered. I’m so excited I can’t stand it! We have an actual real life address!

Perfect 10

Wednesday, January 14th, 2004

I didn’t get a chance to post yesterday that we’d made it to number 10 on the housing list. I’m so excited I can’t stand it. If it keeps going at this rate, they’ll call us by Friday for a house. It’ll probably be another week before we can move in and schedule TMO to bring us our things, but we’ll have an actual, real live address. Woo hoo!

The girls have taken it upon themselves to irritate me by getting up at 6:30 lately. I don’t want to give them a later bed time, but I don’t like getting up that early either.

Little Miss fell off of the trampoline yesterday. I knew it was only a matter of time before one of them fell. She was fine, but she sure didn’t want to get back on.

I saw this over at Allison’s and thought I’d see how many I’d seen.

Back From The Doc

Monday, January 12th, 2004

The first appointment wasn’t as bad as I thought. They’ve divided the yucky things between two appointments. This one was the blood sucking part. On the 21st I get to go back for a dating ultrasound. Guess that’s when we’ll find out if my dreams of twins were right. On the 29th I get to go back for the physical exam. That’s just a fancy schmancy way of saying I’m going to pry your cooter open with a cold hunk of metal. Then I’m going to poke around with a 10 foot long q-tip while trying to chat you up about the weather/latest round of deployments/what lotion you use on your legs. I’m not looking forward to that one at all.

Little Bit Nervous

Sunday, January 11th, 2004

I’m a bit nervous about my appointment tomorrow. I know what you’re saying. I’ve already got two kids, what is there to be nervous about? It’s like the first few times you ride a roller coaster. It wasn’t that bad. You wouldn’t mind doing it again, but it still makes your palms sweat like a cold glass of tea on a hot summer afternoon.

I know I’ll have to deal with gestational diabetes again. It only gets worse with each pregnancy. I know I’ll be miserable and huge all summer. There’s always the possibility of another c-section. All if this isn’t what bothers me, though. I knew all of this before we decided to have number 3. What scares the holy crap out of me is the dream I had last night. What in the world could I have dreamed about that was worse than the possibility of a c-section, you ask? Twins. When I was pregnant with both Lou and Little Miss, whenever I had a dream it was always about my baby girl that I was going to have. Last night I dreamed I had twin boys. Now, don’t get me wrong, if I do indeed have twins I will be very excited. But I know how much work it will be. I have no delusions that having two kids close in age is anything like having twins and it scares the bejeesus out of me. So I’m hoping for a little ultrasound tomorrow afternoon to calm my fears. Or confirm them so I have time to mentally prepare. Hurry up 2:00.

Party Time

Saturday, January 10th, 2004

We had a party here tonight. A waxing party. We waxed eyebrows, backs, and chests. It was lots of fun. For Lori and me anyway. I’m not sure the guys enjoyed it as much as we did.

*Pictures removed.

And just for fun… here’s a shot of Baby Hack at 8 weeks. I swallowed a basketball already.
